Bill
Spencer
I am a Mariner first, with decades of ocean waters experience. I
have sailed throughout Alaska from Southeast waters to the Northern
Arctic. My experience has been as a registered fishing guide even
before Alaska required state registration. I am also a Large Game
Transporter, a Ships Master & Tug Boat Captain and hold an MMD.
My maritime experience in sailing year round in Alaska has crystallized
the importance of vessel safety utilizing vessels that have the
necessary stability and seaworthiness for what can be the unexpected.
In vast Alaska you can find yourself in places where you have to
rely on your own resources and not assume that someone is around
the corner to pick you out of the water and get you home. Fishing
and Viewing Wildlife and Scenery with small groups and families
are about the most fun anyone could ask for. I have a great appreciation
and love for this state, so for me, taking someone out to experience
Alaska for what she is, just doesn’t get any better. If
you are looking to go out to kill a whole bunch of fish or have
someone else fish for you please contact someone else.
However, if you want to go fishing, catch fish, have lot of fun,
set your own hook, maybe net your best friends fish, or work a downrigger,
while seeing Alaskan wildlife and scenery we are a sure bet!
Our company is Alaskan owned and one of a hand full that
has the capability and does operate on a year round basis.
Lee Walkowsky
Lee is a dear friend of mine and he tells
everyone that he hates people. He works alternate weeks as a Mariner
for the Alaska Marine Highway, with over 20 years as a commercial
crab fisherman and captain, and is someone who not only can catch
fish but really knows how to rig, catch, clean, process and preserve
the fish when caught. Lee holds a USCG Masters License and is also
a United States Merchant Marine (MMD). You won’t meet
a nicer, a more informative, and giving person than Lee. This man
can really tell you everything about fish, commercial fishing, preparing
fish, and Alaska.

Alaska's wilderness and Alaskan waters are no place to take
chances or shortcuts.
There are two types of Charter Boats:
"Uninspected" These vessels carry required safety
equipment. The "Uninspected" vessels now have the
option to be examined by the United States Coast Guard and
if they have certain equipment on the vessel they can qualify
into the 5 STAR rating program being offered by the Coast
Guard. Any "Uninspected" vessel (6 person or less-6pack)
that is awarded the full 5 STARS is a good safe boat. The
higher the rating, of a rating of one to five stars, the safer
the boat.
The second type of Charter Vessel are
the "INSPECTED VESSEL": This vessel meets very rigorous
requirements by the USCG. The initial designs are reviewed,
the construction inspected, stability tested, and they have
annual inspections by the USCG. The rules are strict. They
are for everyone's safety. INSPECTED Vessels cost considerably
more money however they are allowed to carry more passengers
depending on their size and route, where the USCG allows them
to operate.
The Boat's safety features set her apart
from other vessels in the industry. The Boat is an INSPECTED
Vessel for exposed waters up to 200 miles offshore for the
entire state of Alaska. Included are a 20 man SOLAS "A"
pack survival raft with provisions, emergency position indicators
(EPIRB's), and twin diesel engines coupled with jet drives.
The electronic system includes redundant, isolated navigation
with Radar's and Global Positioning (GPS), VHF, HF sideband,
Marine, Aircraft and with Citizen Band radios.

Not Quite. However, there are very few vessels in the State
of Alaska that have The Boat's capability to get underway
from municipal type ports to Remote locations in a hurry.
The Boat's high speed, exposed water rating, maneuverability
in tight quarters or in unfavorable sea conditions, and shallow
draft versatility, gets you to and from your destination with
authority and ease.
The Boat is 2-3 times faster than conventional
charter boats her size. This allows you more time in the hot
fishing areas. Less driving - More fishing!!
The Boat is a high speed, offshore, passenger/cargo vessel
that travels up to three times faster than conventional charter
boats of her size. Her large back deck and spacious, fully
enclosed cabin, allow for uncluttered freedom to move about
while fishing and wildlife viewing. The Boat's engineered
design makes for an incredibly stable and comfortable ride.
